NNC1 form: official downloads and reading a filed copy

Download the official NNC1 or specimen, distinguish it from a filed company copy, and check incorporation details before extracting data.

How does NNC1 differ from a certificate and NAR1?

NNC1 is the Incorporation Form (Company Limited by Shares). It records particulars in an incorporation application and is a different document from a Certificate of Incorporation. NAR1 is an annual return with its own return date. Choose the document by the point in time and information you need.

NNC1 helps with questions about founder members, initial shares and first officers. Later changes require later records. Do not label an officer named in the incorporation filing as a current officer merely because no subsequent document was supplied.

Which NNC1 PDF do you need to download?

Use the Registry’s specified-forms list for the current blank NNC1 and completion notes. Use its specimen to understand the layout. The official specimen contains fictional particulars; it is not a filed record of a real company.

For a particular company’s incorporation record, identify the entity in electronic search, inspect its document index and obtain the registered image. A blank-form download does not disclose that company’s shareholders or directors. Older companies may have earlier incorporation form types; use their dates and index descriptions instead of assuming every historical record is NNC1.

Scroll sideways to see all columns; focus the table and use arrow keys on a keyboard.

Five groups of details to check when reading NNC1

This is a reading and extraction sequence, rather than an incorporation filing service. Layouts can differ between versions. Locate information by the headings and page numbers in your actual copy, rather than relying on positions in an old screenshot.

  1. Names and company type: retain the original Chinese and English text and verify the target entity.
  2. Shares and capital: keep classes, currencies and quantities separate; a monetary amount is not a share count.
  3. Founder members: use separate records for each member and associated shares instead of combining names.
  4. First directors and company secretary: retain the role, name and source location for publicly available particulars.
  5. Version and pages: keep the document description, index date and source page references; mark missing continuation pages as not supplied.

A worked comparison: first officers are not necessarily current

Fictional workflow example: a client supplies an NNC1 and a later NAR1 and asks for current directors. Do not copy the first-director row from NNC1 as the answer. Separate the documents, dates and roles, then establish whether later appointment or cessation records or a current report are required.

A useful delivery row has four elements: value, role, source document and page, and the date to which the information relates. Mark current status as unverified where needed. For multi-document extraction, retain traceable records before producing a consolidated company summary.

Missing pages, protected information and batch delivery

Public document images and protected information have different access arrangements. PI-NNC1 sheets contain information withheld from public inspection. An absent field in a public copy does not establish that the person failed to provide it. Extract from lawfully obtained material and distinguish unavailable information from missing supplied pages.

For a ClariRecord batch enquiry, specify the companies and identifiers, required incorporation document types, existing PDFs, fields and output format. Agree a representative sample before a batch. Our published interactive example is NAR1; it must not be mistaken for demonstrated NNC1 extraction results.
